Employee Satisfaction Surveys

Any ideas on proactively measuring “employee satisfaction” If so, what methods have you used to measure this? Where the results quantifiable? The company has utilized a program called Zoomerang to conduct employee surveys – looking for fresh ideas. Your feedback is appreciated.
