Goal Tracking By Chance?

Saying that you need to track goals is a whole bunch easier than doing it. Do any of the statements below sound like you?

1. How have you tracked achievement of objectives and goals in the past?

  1. Joe does it
  2. Team leader does it
  3. We haven’t done any real tracking
  4. It’s an impossible challenge, we just focus on getting through the day

2. How successful have you been at meeting your goals?

  1. We don’t know
  2. Can meet them sometimes
  3. Haven’t given it much thought
  4. Never meet them

3. How do you know if you were successful?

  1. No one complains
  2. Someone calls and says they’re missing something

4. If you never track your performance,

  1. How do you know if you’re successful?
  2. How do you know what is/is not effective?
  3. What criteria do you use to determine work flow, roles, responsibilities, and time requirements?

It’s important for you to understand the value of measurement when committing to goals. And if you’re leaving it to chance, it will never get done.
