Employee Orientation May Be A Waste Of Time And Money

An SHRM study found that more than 80 percent of people who voluntarily change jobs do so because they want to feel that they have more control over their work and that the work they do has an impact. One reason people are flocking to smaller organizations is to feel that they aren’t just a cog in a giant machine. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard in exit interviews “I’m leaving to go to a smaller organization where I can really make a difference.”

Agreed – from my experience in the UK, this happens most frequently when people hit their 40’s…
