Team Building Not The Answer

I need some ideas for team building and boosting employee moral. We are a small PR company and we have had a lot of turn over. One year the company when to Mammoth for four days. We don’t want to do the same thing. Any suggestion? Our owner recently rehired an old employee who had burned some bridges and now this person is rehired as the VP. This rehired employee brings in the clients. Also, everyone is over worked.

The Team Doc Says…

A team building “event” won’t solve your problem.

In my work, I’ve found that the root cause of most issues is communication. I recommend that the CEO start having regular meetings with staff to open that door. He needs to be frank and honest and build a bridge that will help employees understand not only where the company is going, but how they contribute to that success.

This is not a “one-time” deal. It should be an ongoing process that becomes part of the company’s culture.

Best regards,
