The Team Doc Says…

Congratulations on asking for help. It is the first step in the right direction.

If you are experiencing an employee turnover problem, it is highly likely that your supervision techniques have something to do with it. The old adage goes that “employees don’t leave companies, they leave managers.” Take this to heart.

One thing to remember is that your team members are people. Kind of a no brainer, huh? :-) But sadly, many supervisors and team leaders forget that. And the issue from a supervisor’s perspective is that different people need to be supervised differently.

Now, to begin, run don’t walk on over to amazon and pick up the book “First, Break All the Rules: What the World’s Greatest Managers Do Differently.” This is an absolutely fabulous, detailed book that will help you be a good manager.

And while you’re waiting for your book to arrive, take some time to read these articles — just click on the title.
