How To Survive With Two Very Dysfunctional Teams

by Denise O'Berry

Two teams. One group all fighting for the approval of boss. Individual approaches to goals. Frustrated with apparent glass ceiling. Second team. Low morale. Constant communication breakdowns. Team does not feel supported by management.

The Team Doc Says…

This sounds like a horrible place to work. I’d recommend shutting it down and starting over. :-)

Seriously though, where are the adults in this workplace? Where are the leaders? Are you willing to step up to the plate? If not, it’s time for you to go somewhere else and leave this place behind.

If you’re going to stay, here’s what you need to do. Find a leader at the top of the organization and get them on board with changes that need to be made in the organization. No finger pointing here. Your company needs to refocus its efforts on where it’s going and get everyone on board. That includes helping every team member understand what their role is and how they play a part. And everyone needs to be kicked into accountability mode. Pronto.
