Putting The Lid On Team Member Gossip

How do you handle team members gossiping and back stabbing please?

The Team Doc Says…

Why you just tell them to stop of course… :-)

Seriously though, that is exactly what you want to do. Make it clear to every single team member that gossip and back stabbing are unacceptable behaviors and identify the penalty for breaking the rule.

It’s not just a bad idea to gossip in the work place, it undermines productivity. CareerBuilder.com found that 61% of people gossip at work. And according to an ABC news report, people spend on average 65 hours per year gossiping. What a waste!

Take a look at this clip to see how some organizations are dealing with this issue.
