Training The Leadership Team

I need to present to our Board and Executive management a learning program for the upper management. Does anyone have any suggestions on what this should include? We usually like to develop and deliver courses in-house (due to cost), especially for this situation because there would be 20-30 people being trained. We need to offer them programs that will extend their managerial and professional skills, and also be a forum where we can bring up the next level of leaders.

The Team Doc Says…

I suggest you ask them what they think. Just like others in your organization, leadership needs to walk the talk and take accountability and responsibility for their own growth.

I also recommend you take a look at your succession plan (I hope the company has one!) and determine where there may be skill gaps that need to be covered.

Using an “outsider” in this type of situation is a must so that your leaders get the most out of the training.
